Pet Parrots Blog is dedicated to all the various species of parrots.
It’s more than the color and size of a parrot that you need to consider when contemplating buying a new pet.
Some parrots like the Cockatoos are very affectionate and cuddly, but they are also extremely demanding.
Other parrots like the Amazons are friendly, but they have a tendency to be aggressive as they mature.
Some types of parrots are great talkers, and others rarely do more than imitate a few sounds.
If you have a family then you should know that some species form a strong bond with just one person, and other seem to get along with the whole family.
There are also some types that get nervous when there’s a lot of activity and noise, while others thrive on it.
There’s also the noise factor to consider. The larger parrots can be extremely loud when they want to which means they aren’t a good choice for someone that lives in an apartment.
All parrots are social creatures and need company, and there are some that need as much attention as a two year old human child.
Other things to consider are how much space do you have available, how much money are you willing to spend and how much experience do you have at handling parrots.
Parrots are highly intelligent birds that will form a strong bond with their owners when they are given the proper attention and training.
Choosing the right parrot for you requires that you know what the personality traits of the parrot you are considering are, and that it is something that you will be happy living with.
